Focus ST Induction Kit C.A.I.S. Cold Air Induction System

Looking at the Focus ST air breathing into the engine, we could see that the standard air filter arrangement was very restrictive. The inlet air is fed through a very torturous route, through small & restrictive passageways, and even flowing over the back of the engine management system before entering the turbo inlet pipe at the front of the engine.

The unique GGR C.I.A.S. sealed cold air box is manufactured from a combination of spun aluminium and pre-formed plastic, containing a large re-useable cone air filter element, and using a traditional trumpet shaped inlet inside the filter to channel the air into the turbo inlet hose pipework. This offers far less restriction to the air flow, allowing greater volumes of air into the turbocharger, and reducing the inlet charge air temperature accordingly. Understandably, this will have a significant effect on throttle response & engine power.

Will removing the ECU from the standard Airbox, cause it to overheat?

Focus ST Free Flow exhaust downpipe and centre section with non restrictive Sports Catalytic Converter

Improving air flow into the Focus ST engine was only the first part of this project, we had to enable the burned exhaust gasses to escape out of the engine too.

To do this we have manufactured a significantly more free flow exhaust downpipe and centre section with a sports catalytic converter. Manufactured from 3" bore stainless steel pipe with larger radius bends, this offers much less resistance to the exhaust gasses, allowing them to flow freely away from the engine.

The combined effect of this and the air filter has shown noticeable performance improvements.

Focus ST Exhaust System

We have also fitted a Mongoose stainless steel cat-back exhaust system to our car. This is a complete 3" bore system and allows you to hear the sweet 5 cylinder engine note without it becoming overpowering inside the car.

Focus ST GGR Performance Tuning Parts

We have tested our GGR Focus St demonstrator car with these performance parts fitted and found a significant increase in torque, throttle response and BHP.

We have developed a number of other performance parts for the Focus ST giving further cosmetic & performance tuning improvements.

Focus ST Dump valve relocation kit

The standard dump valve is integral with the turbo on the Focus ST. We have now developed a kit which will disable this, and enable you to fit an atmospherically venting dump valve to the cold side of the intercooler, at the front of the engine bay. Our kit consists of a special spring to disable the existing dump valve and a special silicone adaptor hose that allows the dump valve to be placed above the intercooler, in line with the bonnet slam panel.

Focus ST Fabricated Polished Aluminium Header tank

This fits as a direct replacement for the original plastic item, using the existing high pressure cap. It will not crack & discolour like the original tank, and it's polished aluminium finish will enhance the underbonnet appearance of your Focus ST.
