| Why do GGR insist on modifying customers own cylinder heads? If I send my cylinder head to GGR for modification, what condition would you like to receive it? | ||
We realise than many enthusiastic Cosworth owners take a great deal of pleasure in also working on their vehicles. We can offer a number of specialist engineering services to competent people. These operations are carried out either by ourselves, or by the same outside contractors as we would for work carried out in our workshops. Examples of the services we can offer are as follows:
Why do GGR insist on modifying customers own cylinder heads, and not offer exchange units?
Over the last few years, we have found that cylinder heads sent for gas flowing may require additional rectification work. For example, the fitment of new valve guides, removal of broken manifold studs, or the fitment of new valve seats. Obviously any additional work to return the cylinder head to top condition will incur additional costs. Also, if a Cosworth cylinder head has been significantly overheated, it may become irreparably soft, this would mean that the head gasket will sink into the head face and loose its seal.
If I send my cylinder head to GGR for modification, what condition would you like to receive it?
We would prefer the cylinder head to arrive with us in a clean & stripped condition. We will only need the bare cylinder head casting & valves. All other parts, (camshafts, followers, valve springs etc.) should be removed. We can of course strip, clean & rebuild the cylinder head for you, but this will incur additional costs.
